John Dryden Creative Director
John is one of the creative partners at the heart of Octopus. A passionate
advocate of using good design to deliver competitive advantage, his work
reflects both traditional and contemporary inspiration and style.
With the assistance of the Prince's Trust, John founded and ran his own
agency for 10 years, before merging with Octopus in 2002. As well as
preaching innovation, John’s unrivalled attention to detail ensures that
every project meets clients' exacting standards.
Charlotte Ball Managing Director
Charlotte was one of the original creative founders of Octopus in 1993
Her wealth of design and marketing experience over 20 years makes her
an important voice in the agency's brainstorming and decision process on
any project. She has an enthusiastic approach and embraces new
technology and advances in print to extend the agency's frontiers into
corporate and boardroom art.
Steve Storey Business Development Director
Steve joined Octopus in January 2008 as our Business Development Director
responsible for managing our existing client accounts and actively attracting
new business.
His early background covered a variety of engineering environments
employed in Research & Development. In more recent years he has been a
technical writer and has since gained 15 years marketing exposure working
in both sales and account handling roles. Steve comes to us having worked
in a Senior Account Handling position for a leading west London integrated
marketing agency. He has significant experience in B2B and B2C with a wide
range of clients and within industry sectors that include automotive,
construction, education and learning, engineering, travel and leisure.
Steve’s roles at Octopus are to promote the services Octopus offer and to
provide effective marketing support on behalf of our clients.
Chris Ball Financial Director
With over 20 years financial and commercial experience in the high
tech service sector, Chris is a chartered accountant (Ernst & Young) and
helps provide systems, cost controls and customer focus essential for
performance optimisation.
Linda Braiden Sales Executive
Lin has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing working within
strategic teams targeting both B2B and B2C markets. Key areas of focus
include New Business, Marketing Communications, Sales Management and
Campaign Management. Linda has a wide range of industry knowledge
including both SME’s and Global Blue Chip organisations across a variety of
industry sectors including IT and Construction. Her role at Octopus is to
support our marketing team by profiling and introducing Octopus Design to
key companies within our target audience.
Mel Maguire Studio Manager
Mel manages the busy studio at Octopus, controlling the progress of each
project from concept through to completion.
An experienced designer, Mel ensures a perfect finish for every job,
whether print, digital or new media. Mel also continues to expand her own
portfolio devising and implementing branding strategies for multiple use
across a wide range of media.
Paul Williams Designer
Paul is an accomplished graphic designer and computer software wizard.
He understands the potential and limitations of today’s design suites,
and provides IT support to other members of the team.
A fast and efficient artworker, Paul also produces creative work to the very
high standards demanded by Octopus.
Melanie Bolton Office Administrator
Melanie is the welcoming face and voice of Octopus.
She provides the administrative support for the design team and
Directors in the management of the business. Melanie keeps a firm but
friendly grip on the finances as well as building relationships with our
suppliers and clients.
Andrew Birt Solutions Developer
Peter Weedon PR and Copy Writing
An accomplished PR professional, Peter has worked with Octopus since
1996. Peter has spent 20 years devising and managing PR programmes
for a wide variety of public and private sector businesses as well as
professional institutions.
In today’s fast moving world, Peter can advise on the most effective tools
for businesses to engage with their audiences, from media relations to
specialist literature and beyond.
